November Birthday's Rock!

It is official - I have now been 33 for a week. Last Thursday was my birthday and Friday was Billie's. We are 1 hour and 56 minutes apart, but don't share the same birthday. I am okay with my age, but Billie thinks he is forever 21 and even has Alex convinced that Daddy is 21 and Mom is 33. Give me a break!

Last Thursday afternoon, I met my mom at Cherokee Trading Post (our meeting destination) and sent Alexandra to Woodward for the weekend. Billie, my sister Allison and myself made a trek to Austin to see my sister Natalie and her husband Matt.

We had a fantastic time - way to many Mexican Martini's! Friday night we went to the mexican restaurant that is now in the Real World house downtown. It was great and so were the martinis - limit of 3 per person. All 3 girls had our limit!!! Then back to Matt and Nat's for "Party Pavillion" in the backyard with their Austin friends. The guys golfed on Saturday and the 3 sisters headed south to San Marcos - my new favorite shopping destination. We had a fantastic time - shopped 8 hours on Saturday!!! And no sister fights if you can believe that. Next visit we will for sure have to go back for more bargains.

Parent Watch Night - Modern Dance Arts

Well, since I am always posting late...here is a little video from the parent watch night at dance class a few weeks ago. Yes - Alex is still taking dance class, but I don't think it is her calling exactly. She is the one with the long, blonde ponytail, black leo and tights. Billie and I sat there and just looked at eachother. She was either sucking her thumb, totally into it or scooting around on the floor on her knees. Too funny! (At least she wasn't the only one who got in trouble for not listening!)

Happy 4th Birthday, Alexandra Morrison McGinnis!

On November 8, our Little Bity turned 4! We celebrated with cupcakes at school last Friday and a family/friends party at our house on her birthday. This is the 4th year in a row that we have been able to have a deck party for her special day! The weather couldn't have been more perfect! We enjoyed the day so much!

My Little Politico

Well, I always try to seek opportunities to have "teaching moments" with Alexandra. Last week it was the Amber Alert...this week the election. She naturally was asleep last night as Obama made his acceptance speech...so I took this mornings chain of events to do my "teaching."

Billie had left his "I Voted!" sticker on her toy that she was taking for show and tell today. She grabbed that sticker and put it on her shirt. She knew that yesterday was the day to vote as many of the parents at her school took their children to the polls with them to vote due to the historical outcome either way the vote went.

With this opportunity, I went into the explanation of electing a new president and told her how historical it was, 1st african american, etc. We talked about how his skin is like Riley's in her class and that doesn't make them any different than us, etc.

So, being the fiesty little girl that she is...she walked into her classroom this morning and yelled the following: "Hey guys - we have a new guy in charge and he starts his new job after Christmas." I LOVE HER!

The Last Bit of Halloween 2008

OK...I LOVE my new toy (my Flip) that I got for my early birthday present. Here is a little bit of my "lil devils." Perhaps they should be my bucking broncos! Until next Halloween...

Beast and His Beauty's

One of the little boys in Alex's class was "Beast" for Halloween...check out his "beauty's" calling him in the classroom. His costume was awesome! This party was TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL!

Trick or Treat - From My New Flip!

Happy Halloween!

Notice the Valentine Tattoo's for Halloween!

She just couldn't give me a decent pose.

Alex's teacher let those who had costumes wear them all day long on Friday. We had a huge meltdown as we left the party - due to no nap and a long day as Snow White!
Alexandra was Snow White this year for Halloween. Thank goodness I took her to the Duck Pond last month and took some cute and sweet pictures of her in her costume. As you can see in the pictures from Halloween night...she was being crazy and would not pose for me on the porch. Or should I say would not pose the way I wanted her to pose. :-)

We started out in the neighborhood pretty early. Alex is a little hesitant in the dark - not really scared- just whiney. She had a ball. By the end of the night, she was running around in the dark and would yell at Billie and I to wait on the sidewalk as she wanted to go up and ring the doorbells by herself. She got a pumpkin full of candy and was a happy, happy girl! Enjoy the pics!

An Early Birthday Gift!

I feel like I am so behind on everything...this last weekend was so busy with Halloween, a school party and a home OU Football game.
So let the updating begin...last Thursday, Billie and Alex let me open my early birthday gift...a Flip camera. Billie thought I needed it for Halloween and Alex's birthday party this weekend, so I got to go ahead and open it up! I have already gotten some great footage...just need to figure out how to get it on the computer and to the blog...stay tuned!
