One More American Idol Post

As many of you know, Alexandra is Strawberry Shortcake obsessed! Here is another cute AI moment from last night. This one even has some moves with the song. (Hee-hee!)

Hope you enjoy...have a great weekend!

A Little Flashback for Most of Us

Well, the last two weeks have been really busy for me. This is the time of year at work when we have meetings around the state for our members, so I have been away from home at night some. So with that being said this post is an early Flashback Friday...as I know most of you will flashback to this song.

Alex and I spent some time with the Flip last night before bed. We are nerds at our house and yes, we do still watch American Idol. This is our McGinnis American Idol.

I thought this was just the sweetest!

Our Budding Artist

Alex wants to be an artist like our friend Angel when she grows up. Some of this comes from the fact that Billie and I have always had the art supplies available and open at all times. Alex also adores Angel.

So with that being said, this little sculpture came home from school. Take a good look at it...

Is it...
A. A piece of petrified dog poop? (my thought)
B. A penis? (Billie's thought)
or C. A snowman?

Well, it is a snowman. Art truly is in the eye of the beholder.

Have a great weekend!

Daddy Daughter Dance

I think Billie has wanted to take Alexandra to the Daddy Daughter Dance since we found out that we were having a little girl. This year is the first year that Alex can go since she is 4 and they have an official date!

We went dress shopping last weekend for the perfect dress for the big dance. The 3 of us hit the mall in search for a pink dress with glitter. Well, we found a beautiful dress (not pink and glittery) and Alex gave me the sweetest story to be able to share with you.

We ended up at Dillard's and she found 2 that she liked and wanted to try on. So she and I went to the dressing room. Billie sat in a chair outside the dressing room and waited. She tried on the dress that she really liked 1st and it fit perfectly. She said, "I look like a princess." It was the one! I asked her if she wanted to show her dad, but she told me that she wanted it to be a surprise, so we took it off and got back in her clothes. Then I heard her voice crack and I looked at her and her eyes were welling up...she said, "It is so beautiful it makes me want to cry."

We just about melted right there - little girls can be so sweet!

So now we are looking for the perfect tie to match for Dad. Will be sure to share pictures!

A Litte Hee Haw for the Funny Bone

When we were doing the "pony yell" the other night...had to get this on video too. Alex went to Big Woo to stay with MeMe & PaPa when Billie and I went to Austin for our b-days in November. This is the song that they taught her and that she came home singing. You may recognize it from Hee Haw. Gotta love this girl!

Alex's My Little Pony "Yell"

Alex is into My Little Ponies right now. When she plays with them she does this pony "yell" that sounds like some african mating ritual.

Last night before bed I was trying to get her to do it so that I could get some footage of it as I never have the flip handy when she actually does it. I know there is alot of footage on here, but I had to post the "out takes" too...it was hilarious! As you will be able to see...she and I about wet our pants laughing! (Uncle Matt - these are especially for you!)

David & Lisa - 35 Years!

Over Christmas, we helped Mom and Dad celebrate their 35th anniversary! The actual anniversary date was December 29, but since we were all there...we celebrated early with a steak dinner and gifts. (BTW - thanks for the great picture idea, Angel!)

WE LOVE YOU GUYS!

On New Year's Eve we headed to The McGinnis Christmas in Broken Arrow. We had another good Christmas and the little girls had a blast playing with each other.

We had a really GREA Christmas! Little ones sure make the holiday season so fun and refreshing for all ages. The Christmas posts will be heavy with pictures, but that is the best way to really show you how much fun we had. Christmas Eve we were at our house in Norman. Then on Christmas morning we headed to Big Woo for Christmas with The Guthrie's and on New Year's Eve we headed to Broken Arrow for the McGinnis Christmas. Hope you enjoy the pictures!
